Polish Mountain

Staged at Goldsmiths MFA in 2017

I stand with my left hand on a handmade handstand and paint hundreds of layers of nail varnish on my left finger nails while chatting about chatting about labour, gender, privilege, humour, self-representation. I require audience members to pass me tiny, thin unbalanced plinths holding the nail varnish pots and hold them steady while I open each pot with one hand.

Photo credits: thanks Ellen Kenyon-Peers and Xina Graham-Vannais

In a later event, I painted the nails of my left hand for 16 hours and invited people to join me in painting their nails and chatting.
